Puma Trinomic XT2 Plus reissue.

PUMA’S TRINOMIC TECHNOLOGY WAS BORN IN THE EARLY RUNNING BOOM DAYS, WHEN THE SPORT BEGAN TO MOVE FROM TRACK TO STREET.

This revolution first originated out of PUMA’s Natural Running collection in the late 80’s and resembled a honeycomb cell. This initial concept evolved and progressed into PUMA’s now famous Trinomic technology.

In 1990, PUMA debuted their most advanced Trinomic technology yet. It was easily identified by the use of a hexagonal system in the sole that compressed and rebounded load. Released into a market ravenous for innovation and technology Trinomic quickly found favour amongst runners who revelled in the plush ride. The technology was applied across a variety of shoes including the XT Plus series, one of Trinomic’s most enduring applications.

AW’13 sees the return of the OG PUMA Trinomic XT2 Plus. The suede and mesh makeup adds distinct character to its signature look, a look so timely it’s also concrete evidence of the cyclical nature of the strongest trends.

The Trinomic XT Plus series will be re-issued in PUMA’s iconic green box. The return of the original PUMA shoebox ensures the reissue it totally accurate. The box is as authentic as the trainers inside.

The PUMA Trinomic XT2 Plus will be hitting Footpatrol, Hanon, End and Size? on the 25th of September.

Last seasons successful activity captured consumers imagination by inviting them to share their style snaps with PUMA for the chance to win prizes.

Autumn Winter ’13 promises to be bigger, better and more engaging than ever before. A source of all things PUMA, the lifestyle hub will continue to host everything from news on the latest drops to galleries featuring the best styles in the UK and carefully curated content from cutting edge blogs.

The campaign will again see PUMA ambassadors Professor Green and Jamal Edwards mixing with ‘Worn My Way’ contributors giving an exclusive insight into their individual style. The ambassadors, famed for their striking urban style, will continue to share their personal style tips on PUMA’s online lifestyle hub.

The AW13 campaign will feature a number of ranges including the Animal Pack, which includes the notorious Slipstream Beast as well as PUMA’s collaboration with the New York graffiti artist Todd James. With current footwear trends, the PUMA progressive running range, which is built up of the R698, Blaze of Glory and Future Disc Blaze feature alongside other classic footwear and apparel for men and women.

The innovative ‘Worn My Way’ site will continue to offer readers the chance to explore everything PUMA and beyond. The unique platform offers readers everything from a look into some of the best PUMA collections around and an insight from some of the most influential UK blogger contributors.

On Saturday May 4th, Forever Fresh had the pleasure of being invited to a very special event in Berlin, the launch of the Sneaker Freaker x Puma running book, the evening took place in a fantastic riverside venue called the FLUXbau, also amongst the 200 + people in attendance were many puma fans, staff, collectors and bloggers as well as Woody from Sneaker Freaker, Jason Markk and the legendary Helmut Fischer, Helmut is the man responsible for many of Puma’s footwear designs over the last 35 years.

PUMA x Hypebeast “The Dim Sum Project” | Blaze of Glory OG & LTWT

PUMA has partnered with online lifestyle magazine Hypebeast to launch thePUMA x Hypebeast ‘Dim Sum’ Pack.  Teaming up together for the first time, this highly anticipated collaboration is an exclusive double release celebrating one of PUMA’s most popular and respected silhouettes:  the Blaze of Glory.  The PUMA x HB ‘Siu Mai’ Blaze of Glory OG and ‘Har Gao’ Blaze of Glory LTWT releases on May 10th, 2013 in Hong Kong.  This pack will later release at selected sneaker boutiques across the globe on May 17th, 2013.

 Based in Hong Kong, Hypebeast is considered one of the premier online destinations for editorially driven commerce and news.  They span styles and brands, from streetwear to cotemporary and high-end fashion, and from the grassroots to the well known and established.  The Hypebeast editorial team continuously strives to make a positive contribution to the online medium and offer their readers unique content and insight to the industry’s most influential leaders.

Eugene Kan, Hypebeast’s Managerial Editor, states “We are actively trying to balance reporting versus creating news, which has been much more rewarding. It is not always about being the first to ‘break’ the news but more so about telling the best story.”

Dim Sum translates to mean ‘touch the heart’ and is the core of Hong Kong’s culinary culture and local lifestyle.  When the opportunity was presented to Hypebeast to join forces with PUMA, it was the ‘heart’ of their city they sought to represent.  Based on food for thought and linking city and culture, Hypebeast created a unique take on a classic PUMA silhouette using elements widely known and cherished in making Dim Sum:  Siu Mai and Har Gao, to inspire this release. 

“Seeing as this was a release themed around our city, food itself is a huge part of the local Hong Kong landscape,” describes Kan.  “I’ve been really interested in the conceptualization and execution of food, as well as itsimportance within culture.  Dim Sum in itself is such an institution, it was a no brainer to pick it!  It was only fitting that we set about trying to apply these inspirations to footwear.”      

The PUMA Blaze of Glory is a shoe that hit the ground running in the 1990s and built its credibility through PUMA’s Trinomic technology.  The PUMA x HB ‘Siu Mai’ Blaze of Glory OG is outfitted in a luxurious yellow leather and suede upper, referencing the yellow wrap of Siu Mai dumplings.  The shoe is highlighted by a cushionCELL midsole in white and rounded out by a neoprene boot for fit and comfort.  The PUMA x HB ‘Har Gao’ Blaze of Glory LTWT is light in weight and more flexible than the OG with a PUMA FAAS 250 midsole, and features a minimalistic upper with a unique translucent shrimp camouflage pattern.  Each pair of sneakers is made to be available in a dust bag that mimics the motif of a bamboo steamer, similar in style to the basket Dim Sum is generally served in.

Puma X Staple Design Pigeon suede.

PUMA have joined forces with multi-dimensional streetwear brand Staple Design and their iconic founder, jeffstaple, to launch the PUMA x Staple Design Pigeon Suede.  The highly anticipated sneaker release is centered around one of PUMA’s most prominent and renowned silhouettes:  the Suede, which was exclusively made in Japan for this collaboration.  

Based in New York City, Staple Design began in 1997 and is today comprised of three main divisions:  a clothing brand, a creative agency, and the Reed Space retail store & Reed Pages publication.  Staple Design is globally recognised as one of the most well respected brands and leading creators for perfectly mixing street-minded sensibilities with high-end sophistication within street culture, art, fashion, sports, and multimedia platforms. 

Organically inspired by mutual admiration for what is classic, the collaboration between PUMA and Staple Design was not about what is on trend at the moment or will be on trend in the future, but more so about what is and will be timeless.

“I don’t follow trends.  Ever.  I purposely mute myself to them,” states jeffstaple.  “Our world renowned Staple Pigeon has become a brand onto itself and has had a beloved following for the past decade.  We strive to attach the Pigeon to silhouettes that stand the test of time. The PUMA Suede is without a question, one of the most important shoes in all of sneaker history.”

A cultural renegade since 1968, the PUMA Suede is a shoe that continues to be a crowd pleaser and PUMA’s most reputable sneaker of sport-inspired style.  The PUMA x Staple Pigeon Suede takes cues from the Pigeon and its organic nature with the use of suede, leather and trim materials that have a natural touch.  The ‘Made in Japan’ signature was a special homage to jeffstaple’s very close kin relationship to Japan, his second home.  The PUMA x Staple Pigeon Suede is the first of several upcoming special projects designed to commemorate the 45th Anniversary of the PUMA Suede.

La MJC, Puma and Footpatrol present ALL GONE book signing by Michael Dupouy

Between 5:30-7pm Saturday 2nd February 2013, PUMA and London’s Footpatrol will play host to the London leg of the ALL GONE world tour.
 
PUMA have again worked closely on the annual edition of the ALL GONE Book, 2012 issue. ALL GONE, released exclusively in limited run, highlights the best & most notable limited edition items from the world of street culture & sneaker design.
 
PUMA Lifestyle is well showcased through the book with some of last year’s most exciting PUMA List product stories featuring prominently. Six pages are devoted to the PUMA x UNDFTD series, touching on everything from the Ballistic and Snakeskin packs to the Gametime, Gold and Reflective projects. Ronnie Fieg’s celebrated collaboration and the PUMA Takumi series are also singled out for special praise.  
 
PUMA have joined forces with Footpatrol to support the London signing event. The man, behind street culture bible ALL GONE, Michael Dupouy, will be on hand to talk about the current scene and sign the limited copies (available to purchase on the night) that Footpatrol have managed to get their hands on. This year each purchase of the book will come with a come limited edition print.

Icons since their introduction in the early 80s, the Blue Star & Red Star raced through the decade with their cutting-edge, lightweight construction. Both featured clean suede uppers with distinct T-Toe overlays, padded foam tongues, and an outsole tread built for ultimate grip on indoor surfaces. They were dubbed due to their colour a common trend at the time but made their own name in the PUMA hall of fame.

The first ever reissue has seen the Shadow Society delve into the depths of their acute sneaker knowledge, meticulously refurbishing every iconic detail. From the clean suede uppers with their distinct T-Toe overlays to the font, logo spacing and style of the branding the Shadow Society have set an authentic tone which is further reinforced by the use of PUMAs vintage Dassler logo.
